- Higher oil price = investment in substitutes
- Investment in substitutes = increased demand for vegetable oil
- Increased demand for vegetable oil = reduced land to grow food
- Reduced land to grow food = less food grown
- Less food grown = higher food prices
- Higher food prices = rioting and starvation
- Rioting and starvation = death and mass migration
- Death and mass migration = war
If mankind with their ability to romance, reason and see, haven't evolved enough to resolve the problems that we ourselves have created, overpopulation, energy depletion and cooking the planet, we deserve all we get - extinction.
